How do I convert cm to pixels?
Divide the length in cm by 2.54 to get inches, then multiply by the dpi. A 10 × 15 cm photo is 1181 × 1772 px at 300 dpi, 591 × 886 px at 150 dpi and 2362 × 3543 px at 600 dpi.
Which dpi should I use for printing photos?
300 dpi is the usual target for photo prints. 150 dpi still looks fine for large prints that are viewed from a distance, and 600 dpi only matters for fine line art or scanned documents. If your image has fewer pixels than the table shows for the size you want, the print will look soft.
How many pixels is a 4×6 inch photo?
1200 × 1800 px at 300 dpi (101.6 × 152.4 mm). At 150 dpi it is 600 × 900 px and at 600 dpi 2400 × 3600 px. The 10 × 15 cm size is almost the same but 1.6 mm narrower and 2.4 mm shorter.
Why does the same image print at different sizes?
An image has a fixed number of pixels; dpi only says how many of them are spread over each inch. A 3000 × 2000 px photo prints at 25.4 × 16.9 cm at 300 dpi but at 50.8 × 33.9 cm at 150 dpi. That is why a print can come out smaller or larger than expected unless you set the size explicitly.
