We are the MozFace team. You want to send grandparents a photo of your child from sports day or a recital, or drop it into a shared album with other parents. But during the race or up on stage, plenty of other children are in the frame. You can't post their faces as they are — and schools and daycares increasingly ask families to be careful with event photos. This article is about showing your own child while easily hiding only the other kids.
Event photos are hard because there's so much to hide
What makes event photos awkward is the sheer number of faces to hide. A footrace means a handful of kids running together; a dance or a group routine, a dozen or more; add the crowd in the stands and it's beyond counting. It is not unusual to have ten-plus people in a single frame, and "hide everyone except my child" is more than hand work can keep up with.
Painting over each one with your phone's built-in editor takes time, and it is easy to miss the small faces toward the back. One photo is manageable, but processing dozens of event shots entirely by hand is not realistic.
Flip it around: hide everyone, then show only your child
We solved this "too many to hide" problem in MozFace by turning it around. Pick a photo and AI detects every face and opens with everyone already blurred. Even with a dozen kids, there is no painting them one by one. The child tucked in the corner of the stands is hidden from the start.
Instead of "hiding the other kids," you "pick only your own child to reveal." Because the starting state is everyone blurred, the very idea of forgetting to hide someone goes away. That is why this fits event photos, where there is so much to hide.
Reveal your child with a single tap
From the all-hidden state, tap your child's face and only that face is uncovered. That's all it takes. If siblings are in the shot, tap for each of them; every other child stays hidden. To finish, choose mosaic, blur, or a stamp — for a celebratory post you can even use a cute emoji stamp.
The edited photo is saved as a separate file, so your original stays as it is. Everything runs on the device, so there's no worry about your child's photos being sent anywhere. It works even in a gym or schoolyard with no signal.
Event photos get harder by hand the more faces you have to hide. Hide everyone automatically, then reveal only your child with a tap. In that order, even dozens of shots take a few taps each, and you get photos you can share with peace of mind — respecting the other children while keeping your child's big moment.

Can it hide a big crowd all at once?
Yes. The moment you pick a photo, AI detects every face and starts with everyone blurred. Even with a dozen-plus people there's no painting them one by one, and the small faces toward the back are hidden too.
How do I show only my own child?
From the all-hidden state, tap the face you want to show and only that face is uncovered. If you have siblings in the shot, just tap each one. The rest stay hidden, so no one is missed.
Can I edit my kid's photos without sending them anywhere?
In MozFace, face detection and editing happen entirely on your device, and your photos are never sent to any external server. It works even in a gym or schoolyard with no signal.
Can I choose how faces are hidden?
You can choose from three styles — mosaic, blur, and emoji stamps — and adjust the strength. Use a firm mosaic when you want it solid, or an emoji stamp for a celebratory post.
