Work backward from the finished size
First decide how big the finished charm should be. A palm-size piece is usually about 2 to 2.5 inches on the long edge; a smaller charm runs about 1.2 to 1.6 inches. If you're ordering from a goods manufacturer, match the actual size on their submission template. If you're making it yourself with shrink plastic, resin, or a kit, work backward from the size of the base it mounts to.

Why on-screen sizing changes when you print
Scaling the art in a photo editor only changes pixels on screen — it doesn't set the printed size. Print with "fit to page" at home or a store and it auto-scales off your real size. "I laid it over the template and the size didn't match" almost always happens at this step. What you need is to lock the art to a real measurement, like a 2-inch long edge, and print it there.
How to make an actual-size test print in Perfect Print

Save and print with the setting on actual size (100%) so it comes out at the size you set. Hold the printed paper against a keyring or your bag to picture how it'll actually hang.
